Biography- John Farry :Singer/ Songwriter

Singer/ Songwriter John Farry hails from the beautiful village of Garrison, Co Fermanagh Ireland and is regarded as one of Ireland`s foremost Singer Songwriters on the Irish Music scene today.
John has been involved in music from his teenage years, and soon discovered that he had a talent for writing quality songs-in fact his first song was written about growing up in his native Garrison-entitled "Lough Melvin`s Rocky Shores"- a song which became a big hit for the Country and Irish superstar Daniel O`Donnell.
Since then Daniel O`Donnell has recorded a total of eleven of John Farry`s songs including a No.1 hit single in the Irish charts with "Summertime In Ireland".
John Farry has also written songs for many of Ireland`s leading artistes such as : ROBERT MIZZELL-PATRICK FEENEY-RAY LYNAM-MARGO- BRENDAN QUINN-MARC ROBERTS-BRENDAN SHINE- to name but a few……..
John has an extensive song catalogue –in excess of one hundred songs to date………….
John Farry has had many successful television appearances including BBC-MAKE MINE COUNTRY, UTV -THE GERRY KELLY SHOW: RTE- THE PAT KENNY SHOW: NATIONWIDE: THE LATE LATE SHOW.
EUROVISION:
One of John`s proudest moments to date was when his song "MYSTERIOUS WOMAN" [featuring the superb Marc Roberts from Co Mayo on vocals] was chosen to represent IRELAND in the EUROVISION SONG CONTEST,in 1997.
John was delighted with the performance of the song-finishing in 2nd place in EUROPE- not bad for a country boy!
The song went on to receive extensive airplay in Belgium Holland and Germany, giving John a good International profile.
John Farry has visited Nashville many times and frequently co writes songs with some of Nashville`s top songwriters, such as Gary Nicholson and Karen Taylor Good who have written hit songs for Country artistes Vince Gill and Collin Raye.
THE AUCTIONEER
One of John Farry`s most successful songs to date is a song he penned recently entitled "THE AUCTIONEER", an Irish story song that really touched the hearts of the listeners, and is one of the most requested songs on Irish local radio today. The Auctioneer is featured on an album of exclusively IRISH self –penned songs entitled "FAREWELL MY LOVELY IRELAND" which is proving very popular with Irish emigrants worldwide
